Pharmacy Admissions Requirements
Our Pharm.D. program takes a holistic approach to admissions, widening the lens through which we view applicants, recognizing and valuing the different dimensions—academic and nonacademic— that shape an individual. This approach allows us to think about applicants as future pharmacists rather than simply as prospective students. When applying to our Pharm.D. program, keeping these things in mind will set you up for success:
Prerequisite Completion and Academic Success
A bachelor’s degree is not required for admission into the Doctor of Pharmacy program at UHSP, but you must have completed all required prerequisite courses before starting the program.
Experience and Attributes
An ideal pharmacy applicant goes beyond success inside the classroom. We’ll review your unique experiences from professional, health care, research, global and even volunteering work. And embodiment of our values, commitment to your communities and dedication to constant growth are also considered for entry.

Pharmacy Admissions Process
Step 1: Apply through PharmCAS
All professional applicants must apply through the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS).
Be sure to do your prep work. Part of the application will require you to submit professional references, the Statement of Commitment, Technical Standards and forms, including official transcripts confirming prerequisite completion references.
Step 2: interview and writing assessment
Upon completion of an application, UHSP will begin our holistic pharmacy admissions review process. Those considered for admission after application review must participate in an on-campus or virtual interview and writing assessment. Interviews will take place on a rolling basis through the summer 2025 semester. Specific dates, times and information will be shared if an interview invitation is extended.
Step 3: create uhsp portal log-in
Once admitted into our Pharm.D. program, take a moment to celebrate! After admission, the first step to secure your seat is to set up your UHSP Portal. This will provide you with ongoing access to completing enrollment steps, like submitting your deposit and intent to enroll form. Instructions on how to set this up will be sent via email.
step 4: complete your checklist
Once your deposit is submitted, you’ll be able to complete remaining checklist tasks leading up to the start of school, like activating your email, ordering your white coat and submitting your ID badge photo.
